The Centre for Communication Skills Education and Training at
the Palliative Care Institute Liverpool brings together a wide
range of high quality, evidence based and accredited communication
skills education and training with the aim of driving forward
improved practice in this vital area of health care.
Established in early 2017, the Centre for Communication Skills
Education and Training is led by Susie Wilkinson, Executive
Director, a founder and leader of the National Advanced
Communication Skills Programme - 'Connected' - and Anita Roberts,
Director (former Programme Lead/Zonal Advisor of 'Connected').
Its strategic aims include offering a holistic
portfolio of high quality, evidence-based communication skills
education and training provision, providing a locus for development
of the professional community, developing our research and
evaluation programme and advocating for the importance of
communication skills in policy and practice.
Courses are delivered by the Centre's established team of
recognised communication skills facilitators, with clinical
backgrounds in palliative care. They include core, intermediate and
advanced level communication skills training, undergraduate medical
education and commissioned and bespoke communications skills
